Ms. Dawson's Story
Jessica here; nice to connect with you!

I teach people to show up for themselves. After all, if not for ourselves, then who are we showing up for exactly?

I became a coach because I have faced abuse on many different levels. I believe sharing my past struggles helps others to overcome their own.

Facing one's past is not an easy task but is a necessary tool to function to the best of your ability.

The strength that I have now let me live my life and not let life live me. It's such an important concept never to lose sight of, but if you do momentarily, I teach people to have a specific checkpoint for themselves to get back on track.

I've lived through mental & physical abuse, divorce, rehab, mental breakdowns, ex-husband drama, re-marriage, and blended families.

In my self-recovery, I found myself constantly looking for answers out in the universe, but over time I've learned the answers were all within myself as I grew. All I had to do was dig deeper, trust myself, open up about past hurts, be honest about where I am in life, and push through everything else.

My last wake-up call was when I was in rehab for 30 days, not controlling my alcohol intake. I was cut off from the world, angry and afraid that I would lose everything. I learned some things about myself initially and why I was so angry. I realized during my time there that the drinking intensified and correlated with childhood traumas I had not addressed of being verbally, mentally, and physically abused. Before rehab, I spent several years trying to overcome past behaviors, past hurts, and how to go about life, not letting it get the best of me. But, I failed and, as a consequence, ended in the last place I wanted to be.

The program didn't teach me skills I could apply daily to change my patterns or identify and protect myself from toxic people. It just held me in one place for 30 days doing chores, speaking in groups, and participating in activities until my time was up. But, not all was bad, as I did make friends with a few of the ladies that I still connected with socially.

Now, after 5+ years of sobriety and within those five years, 2+ years solely working on me as a person, I have my roadmap to life share how I made it through all those obstacles.

Even if you have no clue where to start, the journey begins with a strong understanding of change and staying committed to the process.

Being committed to myself and the process made me do the following:
  • Stay sober for 5+ years
  • Promoted as the youngest CEO for a Healthcare Litigation Firm and became the Board Chair of the company.
  • I started my own company in Marketing, Website Design, and Business Strategy.
  • I'm back in virtually personal training and taking daily activity seriously for my health.
  • After 33 years of what I thought was the problem, I'm closer to my sisters, and now we talk regularly.
  • I have a better relationship with my daughter.
  • Take daily steps to check my mental status.

ARCS has been the only program that addressed what I needed to hear and what I needed to learn to accept about myself.

If you resonate with anything I've covered, then let's connect!
